This role is critical in ensuring seamless operations within both the Assembly and Logistics departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently planning and managing workloads, delivery schedules, and trailer loads using SAP, Excel, and TMS.
You will oversee the accurate completion of production and logistics processes, including order management, stock monitoring, and invoice processing. By proactively addressing issues, liaising professionally with customers and colleagues, and maintaining accurate documentation and reports, you will ensure continuous workflow and operational efficiency.
Additionally, the role involves providing support during the absence of senior managers, help onboarding new projects, and optimizing multidrop routes, while fostering collaboration to minimize downtime and meet customer requirements. This dynamic position demands strong organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to maintaining professionalism and accuracy in all interactions.
Assembly.
- Efficiently plan workload and delivery schedules for the upcoming week using a combination of SAP and Excel tools.
- Raise and manage orders in SAP, while monitoring progress through the WMS program SGAR (AS400), ensuring all production orders are completed and closed accurately with correct documentation.
- Proactively address stock and system-related issues to maintain seamless workflows, avoiding delays in operations.
- Liaise professionally with various hauliers and areas of the business to ensure prompt resolution of problems or queries that may arise.
- Process invoices and maintain up-to-date, accurate reports.
- Coordinate with customers regarding booking requirements and communicate any issues to them promptly and effectively.
- Be able to competently cover for the Logistics and Assembly manger in their absence.
- To help plan and onboard any new projects that may arise.
- To build a relationship with the assistant assembly manager ensuring a good workflow for the assembly team, minimising any downtime.
Logistics.
- Plan full trailer loads for designated customers, ensuring all goods are properly configured to fit on the selected trailer before initiating the pick process, utilizing both SAP and TMS.
- Plan multidrop loads and routes for hauliers as needed, optimizing trailer utilization to its maximum capacity.
- Adhere to customer booking requirements by scheduling deliveries in advance, verifying the correct pallet count and accurate stock listings.
- Communicate with both internal and external customers in a professional, timely, and courteous manner to address queries and resolve issues efficiently.
- Process invoices from hauliers and suppliers, ensuring alignment with delivery records for accuracy.
- Provide coverage for the Assistant Logistics Manager during their absence.
- Support the Logistics and Assembly Manager as and when necessary.
Desired Skills:
- Proficient in SAP and TMS: Would be beneficial, but full training will be given on the in house systems.
- Excel: A good working knowledge of Excel and the capability to manage complex spreadsheets.
- Strong organizational skills: Capable of managing multiple tasks, ensuring accurate documentation and timely completion of orders and reports.
- Problem-solving and proactivity: Skilled at identifying and resolving stock and system-related issues to maintain seamless operations.
- Customer-focused communication: Professional, timely, and courteous interaction with internal and external customers to address queries and concerns effectively.
- Invoice and data management: Accuracy in processing invoices and maintaining up-to-date records aligned with delivery operations.
- Project onboarding: Experience in assisting with the planning and implementation of new projects would be beneficial but not essential.
- Collaboration and leadership: Ability to work closely with team members and provide support during the absence of senior managers, ensuring continuity and minimizing disruptions.
- Route planning expertise: Would be beneficial, with good geographical knowledge, but training will be given.
